About this design:
Aboriginal Culture is in existence for many thousands of years. Aborigines portray their ancient culture and spiritual significance by painting their bodies with designs and motifs. These motifs explain their family group, tribe, dreaming, totems, etc. and vary by tribes and country (geographical location).
Anna Pitjara is from the Utopia region of Central Australia. She belongs to the Petyarre / Pitjara family and speaks the Anmatyerre language. Her dreamings mainly involve Body Painting, Bush Yam, Yam Seeds, Sandhill, etc.
Aboriginal Designs from Australia are printed on beautiful 100% cotton fabric by M & S Textiles. They are colorful, artful and have a smooth soft feel.
These designs contain visions of wild desert flowers, dancing spirits, spirit people, animals, winds and currents, and depict parts of authentic Aboriginal life.
We hope you enjoy using them in your quilts as much as we do. We have many more in our shop, call us if you would like to see them.
