Knitting Class - Brioche Knit with Emily Cross

Brioche, Newsprint Cowl - 2 Sessions/2 Hours each, $100

Thursday, March 13 - 1:30 to 3:30

AND

Thursday, March 27th - 1:30 to 3:30

In this class Emily will teach you the basics of knitting brioche, a stitch that creates impressive projects. The skills covered will include: Cast On, Two Color Brioche in the round, fixing an oops, and weaving in ends. We will put these skills together and knit an amazing infinity scarf. I will have modifications for a cowl for those who prefer fewer stitches. This class has a weekend between the first and second class.

Prior experience in knitting, purling, and knitting in the round is required.

Emily Cross has been creating with fiber her whole life, although she maintains it is an urban myth that she was born knitting. She will cheerfully admit to sewing, quilting, felting, knitting and crocheting for over 40 years! In reviews, students have reported she is an extremely patient and encouraging teacher. To achieve this, she keeps class size small and intimate with only 4 to 6 students in each class.

This class meets twice, for a total of 4 hours, 2 hours each day. The classes are spaced 2 weeks apart to give you time to make progress.

$100.00 plus materials

Pattern for the scarf will be provided in class.

Knitting with Emily Cross - Brioche - Newsprint Cowl

HOMEWORK:

Please cast on 160 stitches. This large cowl allows you to see both side of the brioche when you wear it.

If you would like a smaller project you can cast on 80 stitches. This makes each row shorter. You can knit more rows and fold it over to see both sides of the brioche
