ABORIGINALS HAVE BEEN LIVING IN AUSTRALIA FOR AROUND 60,000 YEARS. AUSTRALIA BEING THE DRIEST CONTINENT, THE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MOSTLY DEPENDENT ON THE CREEKS OR RIVERS FOR THEIR NEEDS. THEY HAVE AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT MANAGING WATER RESOURCES WITHIN THE AUSTRALIAN LANDSCAPE. THEY REMEMBER THE RIVER BY TELLING STORIES, SINGING SONGS, VISITING DRY RIVERBEDS OR DEPICTING PICTURES OF THE AREA/PLACE ON THE CANVAS, CAVES, ETC.

These designs contain visions of wild desert flowers, dancing spirits, spirit people, animals, winds and currents, and depict parts of authentic Aboriginal life.
